Colorful Creations Summer Blog HOP!

Welcome to the Colorful Creation’s I Love Summer Blog Hop.  You should have come from Toccara's blog .  If you have stumbled across this by chance and want to play along then you can head back to the Colorful Creations site to start at the beginning and to start collecting your challenge words. These words should be bolded on each DT member’s blog.  You should visit each member’s blog and collect each word to complete the quote.  Once you have completed the quote, please leave it in the comment section of the Colorful Creations Blog Hop post.

For this summer fun project I altered this cute wooden bicycle I found at my local thrift store.

Using some Prima IOD Moulds and fast Amazing Casting Resin, I was able to shape the piece around the handle bars and tied lace to it.

Using gesso as the first coat then sprayed the entire bike with Prima shimmery teal spray.

I arraigned the flowers to look like they were coming out of the bucket using foam and artificial moss and hot glue as the adhesive.

These are just some artificial flowers from the craft store.

I also attached and sprayed a lace applique and flowers to give a vintage shabby look.

These are some tiny glass bottles that I stuffed with pieces of music sheet. And below is chipboard that I flipped upside down to look like a basket and attached some feathers to it.

I hope this project inspires you to do more mixed media and that it make you FEEL like summer is in the air. For a full video tutorial Click Here:

Mixed Media ATCs

Something old with sometime new was this challenge theme. These are some ATCs I created using some old stamps and stickers I had in my stach and some new paints.

To give texture to the background, I used cheesecloth and modeling paste through a stencil.

Also using some stamps, I embossed image to create some resist.

Using some Inka Gold Wax to highlight the high points to give some definition.
